Proper site preparation is the secret to a long-lasting lawn. You should remove any existing weeds or old grass, till the soil to a depth of 4–6 inches, and ensure the grade is level and sloping away from your home’s foundation. Adding a layer of high-quality starter fertilizer or organic compost can also help the new roots establish faster in ME soil.
