Ready for the thaw?  The start of 2015 has been one for the books!  As you were taking care of the snow, you may have not been too concerned about salt or ice melt damage on your lawn.  The average ice melt purchased at your local home improvement store is sodium chloride, pretty much table salt.  Turf, like most of us gets dehydrated after a heavy salt meal.  When the grass plant takes up the salt it is unable to take in any water.  If you notice the grass around your walk ways and alongside the road looking brown and thin, you might have this issue.  We recommend sodding or seeding with Jonathan Green’s Black Beauty Ultra! It has three times the salt tolerance than Bluegrass.  If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to call the office at 1-800-341-6900.
